Basic Rider course is a one credit course. Upon successful completion, students earn a Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles two-wheel license testing waiver.

One-Credit Course
RVH 130 Basic Rider Course - Course content includes classroom instruction and practice on the riding range. Teaches basic physical and mental skills for motorcycle operation. Satisfactory completion of the course prepares the student for State DMV licensing and makes them eligible for a Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles two-wheel license testing waiver. Students also may qualify for discounts with some insurance companies. Protective clothing including long sleeves, sturdy long pants, over the ankle footwear, and full finger gloves (preferably leather), eye protection and a DOT certified helmet are required. Motorcycles are provided.
