    Q: How do I find out what I’m supposed to do for my classes now that I don’t go on the campus for classes?

    A: Log in to your myDCC account and click Canvas. If you don’t know your password, email passwordreset@danville.edu for help. If you have any questions about Canvas, email canvas@danville.edu.

    Q: Who can I contact if I have questions about what courses to take?

    A: Faculty advisors are available to help students select courses. To schedule an appointment with a faculty advisor, contact them through Navigate. If you need help scheduling an appointment in Navigate, refer to the scheduling guide. If you are a new student, contact advising@danville.edu for guidance.

    Q: How do I register for classes?

    A: There are multiple ways to register for classes.

    • You can register for classes online through myDCC or through Navigate.
    • Advisors are available to meet with you by email, phone, or virtually through Zoom

     

    Q: How do I apply for financial aid?

     

    A: New students will need to complete the 2020-2021 FAFSA. Please monitor your email and/or myDCC account for any items required for verification. You can check your awards in your Student Center in the Student Information System (SIS). For additional questions, contact dccfinaid@danville.edu.

    Complete a Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA).

    • You must be a high school graduate or have your GED and submit your high school transcript or equivalent showing your graduation/completion date.

     

    Q: How do I submit documents for Financial Aid?

     

    A: Some items can be submitted/uploaded within the Student Information System (SIS) by clicking on the item listed under your To-Do list in Student Center. Forms can be downloaded from the Financial Aid Forms page and either submitted securely, or mailed in to the college. Someone will be periodically checking for any documents mailed in.

    Q: How do I purchase books?

    A: DCC's bookstore offers comprehensive services through its website, available at bookstore.danville.edu.

    If you have any questions about your books, please call 434-797-8426. 

    Q: Will DCC still hold student events?

    A: Yes, DCC will hold student events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Check your email frequently for details about these events. Activities will be held primarily via email, Canvas, and Zoom. Some events will be held on campus using social distancing policies outlined in the UKnighted: 6 Feet Apart campaign.

    A: Learn more about Wi-Fi access on campus.

    Q: What technology resources are available to me since I’m new to online classes?

    A: Students can receive free access to antivirus software and the Microsoft Suite at resources.vccs.edu.
     
    Q: How do I know if I have a refund?

    A: Complete the following steps:

    1. Navigate to dcc.afford.com
    2. Click Resend Registration Email
    3. Enter your student email address and click Resend Registration Email
    4. Check your student email in myDCC for details on how to enroll
