Danville Community College (DCC) is accepting students for enrollment for the fall semester.
“Although this has been a challenging year so far, DCC faculty and staff have risen to the occasion and we are ready and excited for the fall semester with our students, whether virtually or in-person,” said Dr. Jacqueline Gill Powell, president at DCC.
With a wide variety of programs ranging from transfer degrees to workforce training, DCC has educational opportunities for everyone. The fall semester will be presented to students partially online for lecture-based courses, and partially in-person for hands-on labs and clinical experiences.
“As we approach the fall semester and the continued partial reopening of our campus, protecting the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff is important,” continued Gill Powell. “We’ve modified the way our students, in labs and technical programs, who will require in-person instruction will come back to campus in the fall and we are adhering to all guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Virginia Department of Health. The situation continues to be fluid and we will continue to shift our operations as new developments occur”
DCC offers financial aid and scholarships to ensure high-quality higher education is accessible to everyone.
“It is our top priority to ensure access to higher education,” said Gill Powell. “Anyone who wants to come to DCC and pursue their goals should not have paying for classes as a barrier to their success. We offer a robust array of scholarships and financial aid to support the attainability of higher education in all financial circumstances.”
Low tuition rates and a close-to-home location make DCC a high-quality, economical choice for students and parents who are have concerns about returning to a four-year institution this fall.
“We offer transfer degrees that allow students to get their first two years of their bachelor's degree education at a fraction of the cost,” said Gill Powell. “The affordability of our courses and the convenience of our location make DCC a great option for parents and students who are uncertain about the upcoming fall semester. Additionally, we have articulation agreements with most of the universities in Virginia, and we have a unique relationship with our own Averett University that provides tuition incentives for graduates of Danville Community College.”
