TRIO EOC Program at DCC offers Financial Aid Help to Area Seniors

The TRIO Southern Piedmont Educational Opportunity Center program (EOC) at Danville Community College (DCC) is conducting 2021-2022 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Virtual Workshops for area high school seniors and adults who need to apply for financial aid. The FAFSA for the 2021-2022 academic year became available on October 1st and the TRIO EOC at DCC program has developed a step by step FAFSA workshop to assist students. Conducted via Zoom, workshop presenters will explain why all college-bound students need to complete the FAFSA and will educate attendees on the types of financial aid available. Interested persons are asked to register by calling 434-797-8577 or emailing EOC@danville.edu. Those who attend will receive an electronic version of the TRIO EOC scholarship listing. 

The TRIO EOC is a federal program, administered by Danville Community College, which assists individuals who are interested in entering or re-entering higher education. Education Specialists provides FREE hands-on assistance with completing college admission and financial aid applications, college information, academic and career counseling, referrals to community agencies, transfer assistance, and scholarship opportunities. The goal of the EOC program is to serve 1,000 high school seniors and adults who live in the counties of Halifax, Pittsylvania, Henry, Patrick, and Franklin counties and the cities of Danville and Martinsville with their pursuit to any 2-year or 4-year college/university.
