TARE (Training, Assessment, Retention, Employment) Program

About

The purpose of this program is to offer employment services for job-seekers with employment barriers to help them obtain the skills and education necessary to secure and maintain full-time unsubsidized employment.  The primary goal is to assess the needs of these individuals, help them obtain necessary work-readiness skills and training, improve their employability through education, and achieve economic independence through work.

Program Components

All TARE participants who complete the program will be able to:

  • Use computers effectively
  • Develop effective communication skills
  • Develop effective workplace skills
  • Explore careers and locate job openings
  • Work with college counseling staff to identify a career path
  • Learn to prepare resumes and cover letters
  • Complete job applications
  • Perform well in job interview
