Registered Apprenticeship is a career pathway that combines paid, on-the-job training with classroom instruction, allowing you to build valuable skills, earn credentials, and advance in your career, all while earning a paycheck.

At Danville Community College, we partner with local employers to create Registered Apprenticeship opportunities through our Knight's Apprenticeship Program that connect education directly to the workplace.

How Do I Become an Apprentice?

Unlike a traditional college program, you don't enroll in a Registered Apprenticeship on your own. Your apprenticeship begins with an employer.

To participate in DCC's Registered Apprenticeship program, you must be employed by — or hired by — an employer that participates in a Registered Apprenticeship program with DCC.

Once you're connected with a participating employer, DCC works with you and your employer to provide the education and training that are part of your apprenticeship.

Already Employed?

Your current job could be the starting point.

If you're interested in becoming a Registered Apprentice but your employer does not currently participate, talk with your supervisor or human resources department about Registered Apprenticeship.

DCC can work directly with your employer to explore whether apprenticeship could be a good fit for your position and organization.
