Early College

What is Early College?

  • The Early College Program is a partnership between Danville Public Schools and Danville Community College that gives eligible students the opportunity to earn an Associate’s Degree while in high school.

Why Early College?

  • Allows students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously.
  • Enables students to to earn an associates degree with 60 transferable credits toward their four-year degree.
  • Lowers the cost of postsecondary education.
  • Helps students gain valuable college and professional success skills while in high school

Who is Eligible?

  • Rising high school juniors at George Washington High School or Galileo Magnet High School.
  • Minimum GPA.
  • Completion of Algebra.
  • Students with a strong work ethic and no disciplinary issues.

How to Apply?

  • Contact your high school counselor.
  • Complete the online Danville Public Schools Early College application.
  • Complete the Danville Community College application.
  • Attend Early College Informational Meeting.
