English Placement

DCC offers a variety of English courses to meet your program requirements and transfer needs. We also offer developmental and support courses to help you be successful.

Direct Enrollment and Informed Self-Placement

Direct Enrollment allows students who graduated from a U.S. high school in the past five (5) years to enroll directly in the recommended English course based on their high school GPA, SAT/ACT scores, or GED scores.

Informed Self-Placement guides students who graduated from a U.S. high school or received a GED more than five (5) years ago by recommending English and mathematics courses based upon the student’s experiences and comfort with academic writing and math, as well as their support needs.
