Danville Community College (DCC), in partnership with the Danville Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce, will host a Workforce Cybersecurity Training Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM. The event will be held at the Regional Center for Advanced Technology and Training (RCATT), Room 132, located at 121 Slayton Avenue, Danville, VA 24541.
This collaboration between DCC and the Chamber of Commerce aims to provide local businesses and community members with valuable insights into the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity and the DCC Workforce Cybersecurity Training Program. The session will cover the many aspects of this 16-week training, including learning outcomes, obtaining credentials, program cost, and how to get enrolled.

The event will feature Dr. Jeffery Fields, DCC’s Workforce Cybersecurity Training Instructor, who will share information on what to expect as a student in the Workforce Cybersecurity Training.
“Cybersecurity threats are constantly evolving, and it’s essential that organizations stay proactive,” said Dr. Fields. “This event will focus on the critical training we can provide to businesses and individuals to strengthen their defenses against cyberattacks and data breaches.”

The total cost of the Cybersecurity Training program is $2,550,000. $850,000 (33%) is funded through a U.S. Department of Labor – Employment and Administration grant. The other $1,700,000 (66%) is funded through State and Local Resources.
