DCC 2023 LPN Graduates Achieve 100% NCLEX Pass Rate

In an extraordinary achievement, that exemplifies dedication, hard work, and excellence in nursing education, Danville Community College (DCC) is proud to announce that all five students in the May graduation cohort of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) have successfully obtained their licenses and secured employment.

The stakes were exceptionally high for this small yet determined group of LPN candidates, as they faced the challenging 80% requirement set by the Virginia Board of Nursing (VABON). With only five students in the cohort, any failure to meet this threshold could have jeopardized the program's overall success. However, the results speak for themselves—100% of the LPN graduates from DCC have surpassed the VABON's requirement with excellence.

The LPN program at DCC is known for its rigorous curriculum, commitment to excellence, and unwavering support for its students. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the faculty's dedication, the students' hard work, and the program's ability to consistently produce highly qualified and competent nursing professionals.

"We are incredibly proud of our LPN graduates," said Dr. James Emerson, Nursing Program Director. "Their unwavering determination and commitment to their studies has paid off, and they have demonstrated that with the right education and support, success is not only attainable but achievable at the highest level. Our program has always aimed for excellence, and this 100% success rate reinforces our commitment to providing outstanding nursing education."

The LPN graduates have undergone an intensive and comprehensive education program that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and clinical expertise required for a successful nursing career. They have demonstrated their competence and dedication throughout their training, and their exceptional performance on the licensing exams reflects the quality of education provided by the DCC Nursing Faculty.

“I’m exceptionally proud of our students, and the support of our dedicated faculty," said Dr. Cornelius Johnson, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services. "This is a testament to the commitment and hard work that makes our Nursing Program Stellar”.

Upon receiving their licenses, all five LPN graduates have secured employment in various healthcare settings, highlighting their preparedness for the challenges and responsibilities of the healthcare industry. Their ability to secure employment right after graduation is a testament to the program's success in producing highly sought-after healthcare professionals.

As DCC continues to strive for excellence in nursing education, the institution remains dedicated to nurturing future generations of healthcare professionals who will make a meaningful impact on the healthcare industry.
