The Danville Community College (DCC) Educational Foundation, in conjunction with the Barkhouser Free Enterprise Center, is proud to present 'Insights from Innovators', featuring Nancy Galli, the founder of Nancy's Candy Co. The event will take place on Thursday, November 7, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in Oliver Hall, located in the Temple Building on the DCC campus. This inspiring event is free and open to the public, providing a unique opportunity for community members and students to hear directly from a celebrated entrepreneur who has built an impactful brand.
“Funding through the Barkhouser Free Enterprise Center is making Thursday night's entrepreneur speaking event possible for our community,” said Dr. Shannon Hair, Vice President of Institutional Advancement & Development and Executive Director of the DCC Educational Foundation. “It is my hope Ms. Galli's story of grit, determination and perseverance will inspire our students and community members to become future business owners and it will also encourage others to pursue their own entrepreneurial dreams.”
As an added treat, the first 100 attendees will receive a complimentary box of Nancy's Candy Co. chocolate truffles—a sweet token from Nancy Galli herself.
Nancy Galli, known for her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to quality, established Nancy’s Candy Co. with a mission to bring joy through handcrafted sweets. Her journey as a business leader, her innovative approach to product development, and her commitment to excellence have made her a notable figure in the confectionery industry. During the event, Galli will share insights into her entrepreneurial path, the challenges she overcame, and valuable advice for aspiring business owners.
“The best part of being entrepreneurial is the creation of a business,” said Nancy Galli. “Starting with an idea and growing it into a successful venture. It's wonderful to share that process with your community and make jobs and opportunities for neighbors.”
This event highlights DCC’s ongoing commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship and providing students and community members with direct access to innovators who can inspire and empower future business leaders.
The Insight from Innovators Series is funded by the DCC Educational Foundation in partnership with the Barkhouser Free Enterprise Center to support and bring awareness to National Entrepreneurship Month during the month of November.
