The Danville Community College Educational Foundation hosted its 3rd Annual 'Suds, Swine, Sippin' & Song' event on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm at the picturesque Motley's Mill Waterfall Estate in Chatham, Virginia.
The event was sold out with over 200 in attendance and more than $40,000 in sponsorships, making the 2023 'Suds, Swine, Sippin' & Song' event the most successful to-date. The event featured mouth-watering BBQ prepared by Chiefs BBQ, amazing side dishes provided by Kick Back Jacks, and live music courtesy of the local bluegrass band 'Jus Cauz'.
Motley's Mill Waterfall Estate provided a stunning backdrop on the Banister River and the cooler temperatures allowed many guests to enjoy the beautiful outdoor patios overlooking the river.
For bourbon enthusiasts, a separate VIP Bourbon Tasting was available, offering an exceptional opportunity to savor some of the finest bourbon varieties under the guidance of bourbon master Dave Slayton. The VIP Bourbon Tasting proved to be a hit among attendees seeking a unique experience. Those who participated in this special tasting had the chance to indulge in the rich flavors and complexities of various exclusive and hard-to-find bourbons. New to the event this year was the Cigar Dungeon for those aficionados who enjoy a good cigar with their bourbon.
The Board of Directors of the DCC Educational Foundation extends their thanks to the many sponsors and attendees for their generous support of this event.

When you see this much support, it is truly because of the desire, commitment, and understanding our community members have in wanting to make an impactful difference in the lives of our community college students, faculty, and staff. It is humbling and a reminder of why we do what we do!”
