In an effort to better serve students and those who may be interested in attending classes in the spring, Danville Community College (DCC) is now open for registration for the Spring 2022 semester with more opportunities than ever for potential students to come to campus and get enrolled.
“With spring enrollment well underway, we are taking a look at the students that we serve and what they need from us in terms of accessibility,” said Dr. Muriel Mickles, interim president for DCC. “Many of our students work, care for children, or have other barriers that might make it difficult for them to come to campus during traditional business hours. Providing a weekend option for these individuals to come to campus and get registered for classes will support this need.”
The DCC Admissions Office, as well as other student-serving areas, will be open daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Individuals can come in to inquire about classes, apply to attend DCC, register for classes, and apply for financial aid.
DCC will also be holding an Enrollment Event on Saturday, January 8, from 10:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. to provide weekend access to those who wish to apply and enroll in classes for the Spring Semester.
“We’re so excited about this event,” said Dr. Cornelius Johnson, vice president of academic affairs for DCC. “It is such a great opportunity to open our campus on the weekend for those who may have trouble coming in during the week. We want to make it as easy as possible for our students to reach their higher education goals with us. It’s not too late to get started with classes this spring.”
The event will feature support from admissions, financial aid, and advising. Interested individuals can utilize this time as a ‘one-stop-shop’ to get started at DCC.
