Danville, Va., August 8, 2019 — Danville Community College (DCC) welcomed the new owner of the on-campus daycare facility this week to celebrate the grand opening of Helping Hands Child Development Center on Monday, August 5.
Center Owner and Program Director Jessica C. Testerman brings with her 16 years of experience, having worked at Danville Regional Medical Center (now, SOVAH Health), most recently as director of the hospital’s child development center.
While the center is privately owned, its location on campus makes it an ideal partner for college academic programming, providing opportunities for nursing and dental clinicals and experiential learning through the college’s early childhood education and development programs.
Helping Hands is now enrolling for new participants, with an expansion of ages served, and now welcomes children aged six weeks to 12 years of age.
That isn’t the only new addition at the center, however, with the creation of a pre-kindergarten class for four-year-olds. This class includes kindergarten prep to ensure its students have the best chance for success as they begin their lifelong academic journey.
To enroll your child, call 434-429-2716 or email helpinghandscdc1@gmail.com.
