Danville Community College Partners with Robert Woodall Chevrolet GMC to Expand Automotive Apprenticeship Opportunities
Danville Community College (DCC) officially signed Robert Woodall Chevrolet GMC Cadillac as a new employer partner in the Knight’s Apprenticeship Program on February 12, 2026, creating expanded paid training opportunities for students in the college’s Automotive Technology program while helping address the region’s growing demand for skilled technicians.
The partnership places students directly inside the dealership’s service department, where they will work alongside experienced technicians while completing their coursework at DCC. Apprentices earn wages, build industry experience, and develop professional workplace habits, all before graduation.

Danville Community College (DCC) marked a major workforce development milestone Wednesday, January 14, with the signing of an agreement with Japan Tobacco International (JTI) through the College’s Knight’s Apprenticeship Program, officially establishing JTI as a registered apprenticeship site. The ceremony also celebrated the signing of JTI's first apprentice under the partnership, Cody Phelps.
Students Named to DCC President’s Honors List for Fall 2025
284 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College President’s Honors List for the Fall 2025 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the fall semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.75 or higher, and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
Students Named to DCC Vice President’s Honors List for Fall 2025
185 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College Vice President’s Honors List for the Fall 2025 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the fall semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.0 - 3.74 , and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
