DCCEF Hosts Giveaways for Students for Welcome Back Week
On August 21, 2024, the Danville Community College Educational Foundation (DCCEF) launched a special initiative to support students who go the extra mile—literally—to attend classes at Danville Community College. In celebration of the first day of the fall semester, Dr. Shannon Hair, Vice President of Institutional Advancement & Development and Executive Director of the DCCEF visited every classroom on campus to identify and reward the student in each class who traveled the furthest distance to get to school.
DCC Business Student Awarded Prestigious Virginia Banking Fellowship
Danville Community College (DCC) is proud to announce that Lauren Abigail “Abby” Chism, a student enrolled in the Venture Creation and Business Management program, with a secondary focus on Digital Imaging and Photography, has been awarded the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education (VFCCE) Virginia Banking Fellowship and will be sponsored by Atlantic Union Bank for the 2024-2025 program.

Students Named to DCC President’s Honors List for Summer 2024
128 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College President’s Honors List for the Summer 2024 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the summer semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.75 or higher, and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
Students Named to DCC Vice President’s Honors List for Summer 2024
82 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College Vice President’s Honors List for the Summer 2024 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours during the summer semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.0 to 3.74, and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
Danville Community College TRIO EOC Program to Host FAFSA Blitz During September
Danville Community College's TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is excited to announce its upcoming 2024-2025 FAFSA Blitz, running from September 1 to September 30, 2024. This month-long event will take place from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each business day at the TRIO EOC office on campus and at their South Boston location at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC).
