Social Media Policy

The purpose of DCC's social media presence is to share information about and of interest to DCC students, prospective students, faculty/staff, and other community stakeholders and partners. Like, follow, or subscribe to our pages to stay up to date on college events, student and staff accomplishments, news coverage, campus photos, and more. We encourage our followers to comment and communicate with us, or ask questions about our programs. To keep this community fun and family-friendly for all, we ask users to abide by the following rules:

  1. Keep these pages rated "G." Please be certain your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and fans of all ages. References to drugs, alcohol, sexual activity, violence, or other postings that violate this rule will be deleted. Personal attacks, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, blatantly false, or otherwise inappropriate postings will not be tolerated.
  2. Please stay on topic. These pages are dedicated to two-year higher education in Southern Virginia. Comments are welcome, but this is not the place for business advertising or political comments. Solicitations will be deleted.
  3. Keep these pages positive! If you disagree with someone, please be respectful. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't post it online.
  4. We reserve the right to remove comments or postings that violate these rules. Repeated violations may lead to blocking/removal of certain users from DCC's social media accounts.
