Danville Community College to Celebrate Class of 2025 at Commencement Ceremony on May 17
Danville Community College (DCC) will celebrate the achievements of its 2025 graduates during its annual commencement ceremony, to be held on Saturday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Averett University’s North Campus. This special milestone will honor the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of students from a wide range of academic and workforce programs. Doors will open at 8 a.m.
Danville Community College Presidential Finalists Identified, Hosting Presidential Candidate Forums April 29 – May 1
The State Board for Community Colleges has certified three finalists for the position of president at Danville Community College (DCC). They were among 79 applicants from across the nation who were considered for the post.
Danville Community College and Old Dominion University Establish Transfer Pathway for Integrated Machining Technology Students
Danville Community College (DCC) and Old Dominion University (ODU) inked an agreement at a signing event on April 18, 2025, that establishes a seamless transfer pathway for students enrolled in DCC’s Integrated Machining Technology (IMT) Program to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Manufacturing Engineering Technology at ODU. IMT is a nationally acclaimed advanced third-year training program instructed by DCC and housed and financed by the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR).

DCC Nursing Program Celebrates Continuity, Success, and Excellence in Recognition of 1000th LPN Grad Turned RN
Stephanie Totten was first pinned as the 1,000th Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) graduate of DCC in 2003 and now, 21 years later, she has graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN), showcasing the transformative power of education and the strength of the DCC community.
Danville Community College Nursing Graduates Achieve Outstanding NCLEX Pass Rates for 2024
Danville Community College (DCC) proudly announces the exceptional performance of its nursing graduates on their licensure exams. The college’s Registered Nursing (RN) graduates achieved a 90% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), while its Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) graduates attained a perfect 100% pass rate on the NCLEX-PN.
Students Named to DCC President’s Honors List for Fall 2024
241 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College President’s Honors List for the Fall 2024 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the fall semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.75 or higher, and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
Students Named to DCC Vice President’s Honors List for Fall 2024
221 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College Vice President’s Honors List for the Fall 2024 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the Fall semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.0 - 3.74 , and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
