DCC Launches 16-week Cybersecurity Training
On January 23, 2023, Danville Community College (DCC) will launch a brand new, 16-week cybersecurity training to provide students with foundational skills to begin their careers. Offered via a hybrid format (50% online course work, 50% hands-on, in-person training), the training curriculum is a customized blend of IT certifications and cybersecurity fundamentals, including the basic knowledge required for COMPTIA-A+, COMPTIA Network+, and COMPTIA Security+.

Danville Community College has partnered with TimelyMD, the leading virtual health and well-being solution in higher education, to offer students free and equitable access to mental health and basic needs support.

DCC and DATC Partner to Offer Advanced EMT Training
Danville Community College, in partnership with the Danville Area Training Center (DATC), will begin offering an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program to the community, in addition to its standard EMT Program offerings.
DCC to Host Multiple Food Distribution Events with Regional Partners
Danville Community College (DCC) is gearing up to aid regional partners in the fight against food insecurity ahead of the holidays. DCC will host two separate events, one on December 17th and one on December 21th in partnership with Tyson Foods and Feeding Southwest Virginia respectively.
Area Students Win Awards at DCC Idea Fair

DCC Professor Creates 'Hats for the Homeless' to Benefit House of Hope
A well-known Japanese proverb says, “One kind word can warm three winter months." Two local individuals, Jude Swanson and Richie Robertson, are giving out more than just one kind word to Danville’s homeless. Both are concerned about the physical warmth of the homeless people in the city.
DCC Financial Aid Workshop, Walk-in Services Set for Nov 16
Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as the FAFSA, can be challenging at best and a barrier to college attendance at worst. Although the application can be daunting, Danville Community College is making the financial aid process easier than ever with a Walk-in Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday, November 16 from 4pm – 6pm in Wyatt 111 on the DCC Campus. Attendees will have the opportunity to apply for aid for the Spring 23’ and Fall 23’ semesters.
