Danville Community College’s (DCC) innovative literacy project, ‘Ace the Mighty Conquers Knight School’, recently won two prestigious regional awards, recognizing the project’s excellence in creativity, storytelling, and educational impact.

Danville Community College (DCC) has announced a significant milestone in its student enrollment, with a full-time enrollment (FTE) increase of 3.38% compared to the previous year.

On Friday, October 4, 2024, Danville Community College hosted its 3rd Annual 'CyberKnights Showdown' cybersecurity competition. The 3-hour event was held on the DCC campus, followed by an award ceremony to recognize the winners.

On August 21, 2024, the Danville Community College Educational Foundation (DCCEF) launched a special initiative to support students who go the extra mile—literally—to attend classes at Danville Community College. In celebration of the first day of the fall semester, Dr. Shannon Hair, Vice President of Institutional Advancement & Development and Executive Director of the DCCEF visited every classroom on campus to identify and reward the student in each class who traveled the furthest distance to get to school.

Danville Community College (DCC) is proud to announce that Lauren Abigail “Abby” Chism, a student enrolled in the Venture Creation and Business Management program, with a secondary focus on Digital Imaging and Photography, has been awarded the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education (VFCCE) Virginia Banking Fellowship and will be sponsored by Atlantic Union Bank for the 2024-2025 program.

I'm honored to share some of the exciting developments and initiatives that have taken place recently, each of which underscores our commitment to excellence and community engagement.

128 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College President’s Honors List for the Summer 2024 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the summer semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.75 or higher, and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.

82 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College Vice President’s Honors List for the Summer 2024 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours during the summer semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.0 to 3.74, and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
