Danville Community College Hosts VCCS Poetry and Art Competition Celebrating the Theme "I Belong"
Danville Community College (DCC) is proud to announce the launch of its Virginia Community College System (VCCS) Poetry and Art Competition, providing a platform for DCC students to express their creativity and share their interpretations of the theme, "I Belong." The competition, led by Dr. Anca Garcia, assistant professor of English, aims to foster a sense of belonging and unity within the DCC community and across the VCCS.

Students Named to DCC President’s Honors List for Fall 2023
219 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College President’s Honors List for the Fall 2023 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the fall semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.75 or higher, and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.

222 Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County residents were recently named to the Danville Community College Vice President’s Honors List for the Fall 2023 semester. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled for six or more credit hours in the Fall semester, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, have a semester GPA of 3.0 - 3.74 , and have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours at the college.
DCC Educational Foundation Offers $500,000 in Student Scholarships, Application Open Now
New and current Danville Community College (DCC) students seeking to reduce the cost of their tuition have access to apply for more than 100 named scholarships totaling a half-million dollars. The Danville Community College Educational Foundation is currently accepting scholarship applications with a priority deadline of March 31, 2024
Danville Community College's TARE Office Secures $250,000 Grant to Expand Student Support Services
The Virginia Department of Social Services has awarded Danville Community College's TARE Department a transformative grant of $250,000, signaling a significant increase in funding for the essential support services for qualifying students. The grant, spanning from January 2024 to June 2024, aims to assist students who have children and earn less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines in obtaining short-term workforce credentials.
