DCC Offers Financial Aid Application Support During ‘FAFSA Simplification Act’ Transition
The Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA), which traditionally opens in October each year, is experiencing a delay in its release for the 2024-25 academic year. This delay is attributed to the comprehensive overhaul brought about by the FAFSA Simplification Act, impacting the processes and systems used to award financial aid to college students nationwide. Danville Community College (DCC), in anticipation of this change, has planned workshops throughout January 2024 to support students who may need guidance or assistance with their financial aid application.
Danville Community College Celebrates Completion of First Cybersecurity Training Cohort
Danville Community College (DCC) is proud to announce the successful completion of its first 16-week Cybersecurity Training Program cohort. The completion ceremony for the inaugural cohort took place on Monday, December 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Shields Student Center on the DCC campus.

Danville Community College Educational Foundation Secures Grant for CDL Class B Training
Danville Community College Educational Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has received a grant in the amount of $233,081 from the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission for the expansion of the Commercial Driver's License program. DCC will be adding a Class B (CDL B) training program to meet the needs of business and industry in our area. Examples of jobs that require a Class B license are bus drivers, dump truck drivers, fuel truck drivers, and sanitation truck drivers, to name a few.
DCC Gives Back with Supply Drive for House of Hope Homeless Shelter
The Danville Community College Nursing Club, committed to making a positive impact in their community, recently organized a successful collection drive to support the House of Hope homeless shelter. The Nursing Club collected much-needed supplies and donations to assist the shelter in its mission to provide essential resources and support to the local homeless population.
