Danville Community College welcomed the new owner of the on-campus daycare facility this week to celebrate the grand opening of Helping Hands Child Development Center on Monday, August 5.

It was a day of camaraderie and collaboration as the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center hosted a welcome reception for the region’s new community college presidents.

Danville Community College Associate Professor of Nursing Tamra Riddle was recognized this week for recertifying a credential with National Certification Corporation.

“‘Excited’ is the word that best describes how I feel about this role,” Jay Jennings said. “I don’t take much time to test the waters; I like to jump right in and be a part of the team. I enjoy rolling up my sleeves and helping out any way I can. Don’t be surprised if you see me on a roof or a lawnmower.”

Danville Community College’s Great Expectations program will hold a mini conference for foster youth in August.
